Birds are a good indicator of what is in their environment, unless it is a happy jack, them little bastards just fight and squabble all the time, if one finds a grub the rest think they should have it or just for the hell of it he is on my patch of turf!
A Butcher Bird will give an alarm call, Peewees too are a good little alarm giver, especially good for snakes these two.
Onto a Wood Duck, well they gave the game away, there are 24 of them on the Red Sea. They all took flight from where they were foraging, then appeared to cower on the bank of the red sea? Not Normally do they land on the bank, mostly in the water.
Yes, there was a predator just starting his/her climb to greater heights. In the morning he/she went north, in the evening was soaring in the south [peaved, no camera] then late evening was soaring up to 30 klm away in the west. [again no camera]
